We turn 32 today! Yesterday we had a great time at both of our viewing locations, celebrating our birthday as well as the people who founded the Chapter 32 years ago. And Penn State beat Wisconsin, so that was a nice cherry on top!
At JT Schmid’s we awarded certificates to Dick Jantzer and Sandy Bennett who have been an integral part of the Chapter, on the Board of Directors since 1986.
We also celebrated Judy Wolfe, our College Fair chair, as well as Gary Clauss who have been involved for many years.
Gary, who was one of our founding members said, “the SoCal Penn State Family has been a big part of my life since I moved to California in 1981. I was proud to attend and celebrate the B-Day of our OC PSU Chapter Saturday and to have been a founding Board Member 32 years ago. Time does fly when you are having fun!”
To our surprise, we were also honored at our party! We received a generous gift from former member Louise Runge and her husband Etienne. We’ve been doing raffles for many years, but we’ve never had such a fancy raffle wheel! Thank you both for this awesome gift – we will be using it for years to come!
And of course, to continue the tradition, both locations served cake to all members as a thank-you for their support all these years. We couldn’t have done it without you!
Here are a few more snaps from our celebration at the Blue Beet. They opened the bar extra early for us and served everything from Bloody Marys to breakfast sandwiches and french fries. We also were lucky to have Penn Staters from Seattle join us from out of town!
Thanks again for everyone who attended. We couldn’t do it without you! Follow us on social media to stay up to date on all our events:
