In 2010, the OC PSU alumni chapter reached an incredible milestone: We became the first chapter in Penn State history to raise $100,000 for an endowed scholarship for undergraduate students.

Shortly after, the Penn State Alumni Association Alumni Insider praised the chapter’s accomplishment in an article that stated, “This is an incredible accomplishment for a group of dedicated volunteer leaders who live 3,000 miles away from their alma mater. It means that, into perpetuity, students and families from Southern California will be assured of significant financial support to help with out-of-state tuition.”

To continue to help support Penn State students from Orange County, Riverside and San Bernardino, we donate profits from every chapter event, all membership fees and any donations received. These funds provide students the opportunity to have a prestigious college education while experiencing Mount Nittany, Beaver Stadium, Berkey Creamery ice cream, the Lion Shrine, THON and more. Our past winners have gone on to do amazing work, and we look forward to seeing what the future brings!

In the last several years the OC PSU chapter has awarded $10,000 in scholarships annually to local California students. For these efforts, we’ve received the “Scholarship Award” from the Penn State Alumni Association on several occasions.

We thank everyone who has contributed to our endowment over the years and for supporting our chapter’s mission. We welcome your ongoing contributions.
