On March 15th, two dozen alumni and friends gathered to celebrate an early “Happy State Patrick’s Day!” at The Hub in Costa Mesa, California.
Our chapter holds events throughout the year from community service beach days to holiday parties, bar tours, hiking, and everything in between. We also watch Penn State Football every game day at JT Schmid’s in Tustin and the Blue Beet in Newport Beach.
It’s not just football season when we get together for fun! On February 10, 2018, Penn State Alumni, locals, and friends of the University slotted some time to make a trip to The Plaza, the center of Old Town Orange known as ‘The Circle’, for this year’s Winter Bar Tour. The Orange Plaza is a quaint atmosphere lined with clothing, antiques and novelty shops, with many dining and nightclub establishments. It brings to mind College Ave. on a non-football weekend. Our focus was food and drink and spending time with our OCIEA Chapter family.
As regular season football games run out, we anxiously wait for the bowl game announcement for our Penn State team. In the meantime, we are all about the hustle and bustle of getting ready for the holidays. This includes spending an evening together for our OCCPSU Annual Holiday Party at a member’s beautiful stately home in the heart of Orange County.
We Are… Giving Back!
Each November, we join forces with Orange County Basket Brigade and help collect canned or boxed food items that can be distributed to families in needy OC communities.
Last year, the organization provided 200+ baskets! Will you help us give back and make a food donation or even help on delivery day??
We will be accepting donations at our November 4, 11, & 18 viewing parties. Please continue reading for more details on what to bring!
