We were so excited to kick off the new year with fellow Penn Staters! On January 1, the OCIEA Chapter of the Penn State Alumni Association (OC PSU) hosted two Citrus Bowl viewing parties: one at JT Schmid’s in Tustin and the other at the Blue Beet in Newport Beach.
We didn’t kick off the year with a W (Penn State lost to Kentucky 27-24), but all involved had a great time watching the game and connecting with alumni, family and friends. We also gave away a ton of prizes including a Nittany Lion building block set, a $50 Blue Beet gift card and much more.
Though Penn State ended up 3 points short, the McSorley had an impressive showing with 246 passing yards and two passing touchdowns. The Nittany Lions’ career passing & wins leader also rushed for a team-high 75 yards and one TD.
